Catherine McAuley, our foundress, once said: "We have one solid comfort amidst this little tripping about: our hearts can always be in the same place, centered in God, for whom alone we go forward or stay back."

For years, that quote from Catherine has been the touchstone for the Sisters of Mercy. We in the Pennsylvania, Pacific West Community continue that rich legacy in instructing students in knowledge and Mercy; bringing comfort to women, children, the elderly and others; and sowing seeds of justice wherever we are. Our ministries show that Catherine's work many years ago is our work today.
