Exercising creativity and the need to explore new avenues of ministry to meet the needs of people, we offer Mercy Bridges, a literacy program based at Mercy Center, Rochester. Mercy Bridges started in 2007 to teach adults reading, writing and speaking skills as well as building self-esteem and making a difference in their lives. The program takes no federal funds, allowing it the freedom to serve many who cannot access other programs.
Guadulupe Ministry offers a unique opportunity to sisters from developing countries to enjoy an education at Mercyhurst College, Erie. The Sisters of Mercy provide these sisters with housing and community. Sisters from Kenya, Uganda and Liberia can take back home to their ministries what they learned, thus further extending the legacy of Catherine McAuley.
